Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company proudly announces today the appointment of Clothilde Bullen to the position of Assistant Producer with the company. In a statement released today, Yirra Yaakin has said:
General Manager, Peter Kift, said Ms Bullen’s appointment is made possible through the support of the 2015/2016 Creative Partnerships Australia Plus 1 campaign, All Our Futures – Indigenous Cultural Leadership Program.
‘Clo will be will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of artistic programs and events produced by Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company, Mr Kift said.
‘Clo joins us at a very exciting time of growth and development and we look forward to her bringing her considerable skills and knowledge to Yirra Yaakin over the coming years.’
Clothilde Bullen is a Wardandi/Yamatji woman with French/English ancestry, who has worked in the Indigenous arts area for over 20 years. Clothilde was previously employed for over a decade as the Curator of Indigenous Art at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, curating significant exhibitions including the Western Australian Indigenous Art Awards.
Now an independent Curator, Clothilde is undertaking postgraduate studies at the University of Western Australia through the Architecture, Landscape and Visual Arts faculty. Clothilde was one of a duo that established the Indigenous radio program Bordak Bordak Ngalla at RTRFM in 2000, and was the Coordinator of the Wardanji Festival in 2004. She has previously been on the Board of Yirra Yaakin Theatre and is thrilled to now be formally associated with this outstanding company.
Clothilde Bullen’s appointment as Assistant Producer commenced with Yirra Yaakin today, Monday 8 February 2016.”
